If the year changed, then Shaomi has made some changes too. Now we have Redmi Y2. Redmi Y2 comes with new hardware, is the best selfie smartphone of the budget range? Let's know ...

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Design.

Looking at Redmi Y2, you will realize that it has been updated over time. It looks like Redmi S2 which was launched in the Chinese market. Its front is a 5.99 inch display and the dual camera module on the back, like the Redmi Note 5 ProPlastic is mainly used in making Redmi Y2. 18: 9 Aspect Ratio Displays, it is also long and narrow.
Like Shawomi's latest phone, its edges are curved. The display has a metal earpiece, a selfie camera, and a selfie light. However, reaching the top of the display with one hand is not easy.
The position of the button in redmi y2 is correct. The power and volume buttons given on the right can be easily used. The phone has a micro-USB port. Grill is on both sides of it But the right-hand side has a loudspeaker. 3.5mm headphone jack, IR emitter and secondary microphone are at the top.

Turn on the phone, you will see a dual camera setup and fingerprint sensor. Xiaomi has also given an antenna line which is at the top and bottom of the phone.

Redmi Y2 weighs 170 grams and its thickness is 8.1 millimeters. The battery is 3080 mAh, about which Shamoi claims battery life of the day. The phone has a 10-watt charger. There is no information about quick charging support. Like other smartphones of Shawomi, Radmi Y2's retail box has a phone, charger, micro-USB cable and a cover.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Specifications, Features and Software.

Xiaomi is known to give strong hardware and the Redmi Y2 also is no exception. Redmi Y2 has been a trusted snapdragon 625 processor. The clock speed of this octa-core processor is 2 GHz. There are two variants of the smartphone - 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. The smartphone has a separate slot for the MicroSD card. Users will be able to use up to 256 GB of cards.
The 5.99 inch display is of HD Plus resolution and the aspect ratio is 18: 9. This department has a minor upgrade compared to Redmi Y1. The viewing angle of the display is good. Neutral color output is available, you will get the convenience of tweaking it according to your liking. The display is a little reflexive and there is some difficulty in reading in the outdoor. Redmi Y2 is a dual sim device. Support for Wi-Fi 802.11 B / G / N, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G and VOLETE is available.

In this phone two cameras have been given on the back side. The primary sensor is of 12 megapixels and the secondary sensor is 5 megapixels. Shawmi has a 16 megapixel camera on front panel which comes with Selfie Light.

In Radmi Y2, you will find Shoi's Meiu 9.5 OS. It is based on the Android 8.1 Oreo. You will find UI customization of shoomi like second space, dual app and theme support. You will be able to access quick shortcuts and other widgets by swiping to the right on the homescreen.

Like the current trend, Shaomi has also provided face recognition for unlocking the phone. The setup process is very basic. It never asked us to show the face at different angles. During setup, a message came that someone else could unlock the device from your photos. After setting up we used Face Unlock. We found that face recognition was too slow and not even acuerate. Looking at its performance, we suggest that you use the fingerprint sensor only.

Xiaomi has given other apps in this phone with some apps. You will also find some Google apps. With this app like Facebook, Amazon, PhonePe, Netflix and NewsPoint will be installed already. By the way, we did not need storage. In 32 GB storage variants, you will get 22 GB of storage for use. You can uninstall most of these apps if you wish.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Performance, Camera and Battery Life.

Snapdragon 625 is a trusted processor that has been part of many popular phones of Shawmo. We did not complain about its performance during use. It handles multitasking firmly. Switching between apps was quite smoother. We have reviewed the 3GB RAM variants which made good results in the benchmark test.

Battery performance depends on your use. If you phone a phone call or spend some time on Facebook and WhatsApp, then the battery will support you throughout the day. If you start playing games on the phone, then there is a fall in battery life. While playing games like Clash Royale, we found that the battery ended more quickly. However, in our HD Video Loop Test the battery lasted 14 hours and 46 minutes, which is complimentary. The phone has a 10-watt charger, which takes about 2 hours to complete the phone.

Using Xiaomi's Camera app is very easy to use. You get a quick toggle for HDR and Flash. You also have the option to apply filters to photos. Other camera modes also have short modes that allow you to record videos of 10 seconds. Also there is video mode and portrait mode. There is also manual mode in which white balance and ISO can be controlled. In Panorama mode, you will be able to take pictures only when you capture the phone in portrait mode.
Selfie is the most important feature of this smartphone, and Redmi Y2 performs well in this department. While taking selfie, it can identify more than one face and it does the necessary beautification inhalation. We found that the phone exposes some selfies to the oven in the outdoor. Self-light becomes active in low-light conditions.

We are satisfied with the images taken from Radmi Y2 to day light. Landscape shots come with a lot of detail. Y2 colors also capture very well. The Macoz shot comes sharper, but the phone takes a little time to focus on your wishes. We have also used portrait mode which gets the depth of field effect with the help of Secondary sensor. The quality of photographs of portrait mode depends largely on the subject's background. If an object is very close to the subject, then there is a problem in the edge detective. If the background is neat then good images can be used with the Redmi Y2.

Low light shots require steady hands, because the camera reduces the shutter speed to capture more light. We also found that the detail in the landscape shot decreases. You will be able to record up to 1080 pixels of video from the rear camera. Quality is better due to electronic image stabilization.

Our decision

is slightly better than the Xiaomi Redmi Y2, the company's old selfie centric smartphone Shaoomi Redmi Y1. It comes with a trustworthy hardware that gives the best user experience with the UI 9.5. Camera performance is good in light of day but weakness in low light. Selfie is the specialty of this smartphone and in this department Y2 gives a strong performance in every circumstance.

If Selfie is most important to you, then you can choose the starting price of Rs 9,999, Redmi Y2. By the way, at the same priceBuying a trusted allrounder like Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 (
review ) will be a bigger deal. If you are willing to spend a bit more then you have options like Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1
